Regional Medical Center in Manchester has announced their very first DAISY Award winner.
The award honors an extraordinary nurse – with RMC’s first ever DAISY Award given to Mindi Jackson.
Mindi was nominated by fellow nurse Teresa Conrad. Teresa says when she hears the term “extraordinary nurse”, Mindi comes to mind.
Mindi says the DAISY Award was something she never expected.
The DAISY Foundation was established twenty years ago by members of the family of Patrick Barnes. Patrick was 33 years old when he died of complications from ITP, an auto immune disease. His family wanted to do something positive to honor the man Patrick was, so they created the DAISY Award for extraordinary nurses. RMC partnered with the DAISY Foundation last fall – and they are continuously taking nominations. Heather Ries, Chief Nursing Officer at RMC, encourages you to nominate a nurse who has impacted your life.
Nurses may be nominated by patients, families and colleagues. DAISY Awards will be presented at RMC throughout the year.
