Dundee Man Seriously Injured in Crash During Blizzard

One person was seriously injured in an accident near Dundee during the blizzard conditions.

The Delaware County Sheriff’s Office says it happened on W-69 Sunday around 10:15 am. They say a pickup truck got stuck in a snowdrift in the highway’s southbound lanes. The driver, 84-year old William Brunsmann of Dundee, got out and was standing behind his vehicle when a southbound van ran into the back of Brunsmann’s pickup truck, pinning him between the two vehicles.

Authorities say visibility was extremely poor due to blowing and drifting snow.

Brunsmann was seriously injured and transported by ambulance to Regional Medical Center.

They say the driver of the van, 59-year old James Schnittjer of Delhi, did not appear to be injured.
