A disaster proclamation has been issued for Clayton County.
Governor Kim Reynolds issued the proclamation Thursday in response to this week’s flooding.
The proclamation allows Clayton County to utilize state resources to respond to and recover from the effects of the flooding. It also activates the Iowa Individual Assistance Grant Program for qualifying residents, along with the Disaster Case Management Program.
For more information on those two programs, go to iowacommunityaction.org or check out the Iowa Department of Human Services website.
Clayton County residents impacted by this week’s flooding are asked to report damage to help local and state officials better understand the damage sustained. That includes damage to property, roads and utilities.
A total of twenty-one Iowa counties were included in Thursday’s disaster proclamation.
