Woman Dies from Injuries in Wrong-Way Collision Near Dyersville

A Dyersville woman has died from injuries she sustained in a wrong-way collision Tuesday morning.

The Dubuque County Sheriff’s Office says 80-year old Mary Moss was a passenger in the vehicle that was heading eastbound in the westbound lanes of Highway 20 near Dyersville. Authorities received a report that the vehicle was heading the wrong way and tried locating it, but just two minutes later were notified that the vehicle collided with another vehicle head-on west of Sullivan Road east of Dyersville.

Moss was initially transported to Mercy Hospital in Dubuque before being transferred to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, where she died from her injuries.

The driver of the wrong-way vehicle has been identified as 83-year old Kenneth Moss of Dyersville. He and the driver of the westbound vehicle, 21-year old Logan Eigenburger of Dubuque, were also transported to Mercy Hospital in Dubuque.

The accident remains under investigation.
