One Injured in Highway 13 Collision in Coggon

One person was injured in a collision on Highway 13 in Coggon on Saturday afternoon.

It happened in front of Casey’s General Store around 12:30 pm, where an SUV rear-ended a pickup truck.

The Linn County Sheriff’s Office says the pickup truck driver, 35-year old Paul Anderson of Manchester, was stopped on Highway 13 northbound waiting for the car in front of him to turn into Casey’s when he was struck from behind by a SUV.

Anderson was not hurt.

The SUV driver, 42-year old Timothy Pugh of Cedar Rapids, was transported to St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids for what authorities believed were non-life-threatening injuries.

Pugh was cited for failing to stop in an assured clear distance.
