Voting Opens for Delaware County Jail Bond Election

Voting opens today for Delaware County’s special election on the proposed new jail and Sheriff’s Office.

Voters are being asked whether they are in favor of the County authorizing and issuing up to five-point-nine million dollars in General Obligation Bonds. The funds will be used to acquire land in Manchester and design, construct, furnish and equip a new jail and Sheriff’s Office.

The special election will be held Tuesday, May 7th, with polls open from 7 am to 8 pm across the county.

Requests for absentee ballots are now being accepted at the Delaware County Auditor’s Office. The last day to request an absentee ballot via mail is April 26th. In-person absentee voting can be done at the Auditor’s Office up until the day before the election on May 6th.
