The West Delaware School Board met Monday night.
Superintendent Dr. Kristen Rickey says every month at their Board meeting, they have a segment called “Learning and Leadership” – it helps informs the Board about things happening in the district and in the state. On Monday night, the Board learned more about West Delaware’s Alternative Programming.
The School Board has also approved improvements at Sill Field.
And the School Board approved resignations for Special Education Teacher Associate Hanna Koloc, Kindergarten Teacher Julie Nordaas and High School English Teacher Taylor Lake. Heather Lursen was hired as a Food Service Employee. And the Board also approved a job description for a School Social Worker.
And several elementary and middle school students were recognized during the West Delaware School Board meeting on Monday night for winning writing contests through the Eastern Iowa Reading Council and the Old Creamery Theatre. Dr. Rickey says they’re looking forward to hosting the Old Creamery Theatre later this spring when they’ll perform a production on some of those winning entries.
