KMCH, Tucker Honored with Several IBNA Awards

KMCH was honored with several awards from the Iowa Broadcast News Association over the weekend.

The station received Honorable Mention for Excellence in Weather Coverage – specifically for coverage of the flash flooding in Manchester and Delaware County last October.

KMCH News Director Janelle Tucker was honored with 1st Place for Excellence in Anchoring. She also received Honorable Mention for General Reporting for her story last March on the student walkout at West Delaware High School. And she received Honorable Mention for In-Depth/Series for her week-long coverage of last summer’s 150th Delaware County Fair.

All radio and TV stations in Iowa are eligible for awards in several categories each year, with KMCH and Tucker’s awards presented in the small market radio category.

Tucker has spent the past five years serving on the Board of Directors for the Iowa Broadcast News Association with fellow radio and TV broadcasters from across the state. She retired from the Board at Saturday’s annual IBNA convention in Johnston.
