Severe Storm Hits Buchanan, Delaware and Dubuque Counties

Severe weather moved through the KMCH listening area Wednesday night.

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning was issued for northeastern Buchanan County, northern Delaware County and northern Dubuque County between 6:30 and 7:45 pm.

Strong winds up to 60 miles per hour and quarter-sized hail were the biggest threat as it moved through Buchanan and Delaware counties. By the time it reached Dubuque County, the wind threat was below 50 miles per hour, but radar indicated the threat of larger hail up to ping-pong ball size.

The National Weather Service says Emergency Management officials reported quarter-sized hail in Holy Cross shortly before 7:30 pm.
