The Delaware County Sheriff’s Office has scheduled two more public meetings about the new jail project.
Those meetings will be held on Tuesday, April 30th at the Greeley Fire Department and the Delaware Fire Department. Both meetings run from 5 to 7 pm.
The Sheriff’s Office encourages county residents to attend one of these meetings so they can learn about the proposed project, which involves building a new jail and Sheriff’s Office. A special election will be held May 7th, in which voters will be asked whether they are in favor of the County authorizing and issuing up to five-point-nine million dollars in General Obligation Bonds for the project.
The public will also have a chance to tour the current Delaware County Jail and Sheriff’s Office next weekend.
