The Eastern Iowa Honor Flight made a trip to Washington D.C. on Tuesday.
The May flight took nearly one hundred local veterans to the nation’s capital to see the monuments built in their honor.
Veterans from the Vietnam War and Korean War were on the flight, along with a few veterans from World War Two.
Tuesday’s trip also included a group of four brothers and their cousin.
The group were greeted by strangers when arriving in D.C., Iowa’s legislators at the WWII Memorial and friends and family during a welcome home ceremony at the Eastern Iowa Airport in Cedar Rapids Tuesday night.
This was the second Eastern Iowa Honor Flight this year, with two more flights planned this fall.
