One person has been arrested after authorities discovered he planned to rob a bank in Hazleton.
The Fayette County Sheriff’s office says 22-year old Gary McNamara and 21-year old Anthony Nelson III, both of Oelwein, were arrested after a month-long investigation for allegedly sexually assaulting three girls. McNamara was also charged with supplying several juveniles with a controlled substance.
During a search warrant of McNamara’s home, investigators unveiled a detailed plan he drew up to rob the Maynard Savings Bank in Hazleton. They found maps, along with the date, time and names of others who may have been involved in the robbery plans.
Along with the charges of Distribution to a Minor and Gathering Where a Controlled Substance is Used, McNamara was charged with Conspiracy to Commit First Degree Robbery.
The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office quickly reported the plan to the bank manager and met with Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office investigators. The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation and more charges and arrests are possible.
