Heavy Rain Hits Delaware and Jones Counties

Heavy rainfall hit parts of Delaware and Jones counties overnight.

The National Weather Service issued a Flash Flood Warning as storms brought several inches of rain.

Hopkinton received three and a half inches of rain, with Bailey’s Ford Park getting over three inches as well. Ryan received just under three inches of rain.

There was a sharp cutoff for the heavy rainfall – only seven-tenths of an inch fell in Manchester overnight.

The storms also brought small hail, with reports of hail in Dyersville and Hopkinton.

Quieter and drier weather is expected for the rest of the week, with our next chance of showers coming on Sunday.
