A food drive competition between several local hospitals has brought in some extra donations for area food banks.
Regional Medical Center in Manchester held the competition this spring with two neighboring hospitals. RMC’s Jana Ungs explains.
The food drive contest kicked off in late April, in which RMC asked their employees to form teams to build creative designs made out of food donations. A couple weeks ago, the three CEOs made the rounds to each participating hospital to vote for their favorite, with the winner receiving a pizza party. And all the food collected was delivered to local food banks, with RMC’s donations going to the Delaware County Food Bank in downtown Manchester. Food Bank Coordinator Doug Robbins says it will help since donations in the summer are typically down.
