Local law enforcement were out in full force over the Memorial Day holiday in an effort to keep travelers safe on the roads.
The Manchester Police Department were among those who participated in the Governors Traffic Safety Bureau’s “STEP” Program, with a special focus on seatbelt use.
Police were stationed at locations throughout Manchester watching for seatbelt use. They say around 88-percent of Manchester’s drivers are using their seatbelts.
During the enforcement program May 20th through June 2nd, Manchester Police also issued eight traffic citations, 80 traffic warnings and investigated two people for possible OWI.
