Dyersville is a busy place this weekend as it hosts the Summer Farm Toy Show.
Farm toy collectors from across the world attend the annual event, which runs this Friday and Saturday at the National Farm Toy Show Museum.
Friday’s events include a farm toy display contest, in which you can vote for your favorite. There’s also a model contest on Saturday, which for the first time will feature a Red versus Green Pull Off, where the public decides whose model did it better. Bernie Kluesner, who builds wooden replicas, will also speak both days. And new on Saturday is a lawn and garden tractor display on the grass by the museum.
Also new this year – the tractor parade is being moved from Saturday to Friday night, leaving the Beckman parking lot at 6:30 pm. Pre-registration is required.
And the tractor ride kicks off the Summer Farm Toy Show – and this year, it is making its way to Manchester. This year’s 50-mile ride will leave Dyersville at 8:15 am, head north on X-49 and over to Petersburg for breakfast, take C-64 and X-15 to Manchester for lunch at the Delaware County Fairgrounds and then take Old Highway 20 back to Dyersville.
