Details have been released on this year’s Delaware County Fair parade.
This year’s parade will once again kick off fair week on Monday night, July 8th. The parade starts at 7 pm, with the theme “Shaking It Up”. And after some street construction last year, the parade will back on New Street this year – proceeding through the fairgrounds, coming out the main gate before heading south on New Street to Union. It will make a little jog onto North Brewer and continue south past Central Park before turning left on East Butler Street and going past Baum Park. The parade ends at Stiles Street.
Line-up will begin at 5:30 pm on Doctor Street in front of the school, with tractors, semis and large farm equipment lining up on East Acres and Grand Streets.
The Delaware County Fair Society, along with the Manchester Chamber and Manchester Fire Department, invite everyone to participate in this year’s Delaware County Fair Parade. Keep in mind that all entries will be reviewed for appropriateness – and water toys are not allowed. They also ask that if you plan to give out candy during the parade that you hand the candy to the kids at the curb instead of throwing the candy from your vehicle.
And remember to bring along a few bucks or some spare change – the Manchester Fire Department will again be asking you to fill their boots with donations for the MDA.
