Manchester Redemption Center Owner Charged with Stealing from Customers

A Manchester business owner has been charged with stealing from his customers.

The Delaware County Sheriff’s Office says they issued a warrant for Greg Rogers of Manchester last Thursday. Rogers is the owner of Can Do Too Redemption Center, which opened last November in the old Can Do Redemption Center building on East Main Street. The center accepts cans and bottles for recycling.

Authorities conducted an investigation into Rogers and the redemption center after complaints from the public. The investigation shows that between October and April, Rogers committed theft by engaging in fraudulent practices when it came to paying the redemption center’s customers. Authorities say Rogers either did not pay customers or did not pay customers the correct amount for their redeemable products. The Sheriff’s Office has not released specific details regarding those non-payments and incorrect payments. They say the total value of stolen property exceeded ten thousand dollars.

Rogers turned himself in on the warrant last Thursday. He is charged with First Degree Theft.

He was released from the Delaware County Jail on ten thousand dollars unsecured bond on Friday. The Delaware County Attorney’s Office says Rogers has waived his preliminary court hearing, with no court appearances currently scheduled.

The affidavit filed with the Clerk of Court states that Rogers is still the owner of Can Do Too.
