In High School BASEBALL last night:
West Delaware was swept on the road in Tiffin by the host Clippers of Clear Creek-Amana. Falling in game one 5-3 and 11-1 in 5 innings in the nightcap. The Hawks will play in their first Saturday Tournament this weekend in many years when they travel to Cedar Rapids for Kennedy’s Invitational. They will face Iowa City Liberty at 11am at Kennedy’s Field then play at 4pm on Mount Mercy University’s diamond against Ankeny Centennial.
Cascade improved their North Division record to 9-1 by sweeping Monticello in River Valley Conference play in one-run fashion, winning 3-2 and 8-7. The Cougars who are 20-8 overall now will need to sweep North Cedar Tuesday night for an outright title.
The North Linn Lynx were denied of a share of the Tri-Rivers Conference crown as they fell to Calamus-Wheatland 10-1 and also beat the Warriors 2-0 down in Calamus.

The Regional Pairings for Softball postseason play have been released by the Iowa Girls Athletic Union. First round Regional games will take place on the dates listed below with all games starting at 7pm:
Class 1A and 2A: July 8th
Class 3A: July 10th
Class 4A and 5A: July 11th
West Delaware will host the winner of Western Dubuque and Maquoketa in the 2nd round on Saturday the 13th.
Independence will entertain either Marion or Clear Creek-Amana.
Monticello opens up with Center Point-Urbana.
Anamosa has Oelwein at home.
Maquoketa Valley will be home to Bellevue in Delhi.
Beckman will receive a first round bye and will host Clayton Ridge or North Cedar on the 10th, the same night Cascade will travel to Gooselake to face Northeast.
North Linn will open on the 10th after a first round bye, they will welcome in Aplington-Parkersburg or Denver.
East Buchanan travels to Miles to face Easton Valley.
Starmont hosts Dunkerton.
Ed-Co has a first round bye and will entertain Tripoli or South Winneshiek on the 10th.
