Edgewood Rodeo Days kicked off Thursday, with a couple of storms coming through town late in the afternoon – but the rain was gone by the time the PRCA rodeo action got underway at 8 o’clock.
And there was plenty of room for everyone with the new seating that was added this year.
That’s Alicia Walz and Jerry Maker from the Edgewood Chamber Board. They say they also made improvements to the rodeo grounds’ sound system this year.
And the world-famous Budweiser Clydesdales are in Edgewood for Rodeo Days this year. The horses arrived in town on Monday and will be on the rodeo grounds through the weekend, available for public viewing. They’ve even been making special appearances around Edgewood and Colesburg this week.
That’s Budweiser’s Lauren Lambeth, who says you can see the Clydesdales in the ring at the rodeo each night as long as the weather permits.
And along with catching the rodeo action, there is plenty to do once you’re in the rodeo grounds, with a number of local groups fundraising with foodstands, games and raffles.
That’s Tammy Kirby, who was working in the Ed-Co FBLA Foodstand. Ed-Co students Campbell Kirby and Luka Schulte were helping out too – they told KMCH there’s one big reason they love Edgewood Rodeo Days.
And the Ed-Co volleyball team was there with Coach Eileen Bergan raising money during “Tough Enough to Wear Pink Night”.
And the Ed-Co wrestling team was there this year too – head coach Alex Hanna said they were hosting a first-time fundraiser.
The rodeo will be held again tonight and Saturday night at 8 pm, with tickets available at the gate. For more information, go online to edgewoodrodeo.com.
