Missing Earlville Man Found Safe after Massive Search

An Earlville man who went missing over the weekend has been found safe.

The Clayton County Sheriff’s Office says 56-year old Mark Kloser walked away from a family home about a half mile east of Edgewood around 5 pm on Friday. He had last been seen walking east near the intersection of Hilton Road and Highway 3.

Authorities say Kloser is considered a dependent adult. After his family could not find him, a massive search got underway around 8 pm involving family and friends, volunteers and nearly twenty agencies, including the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office, State Patrol and local fire departments. They searched until about 3 am Saturday and resumed again around 6 am.

Authorities say Kloser returned safely to his Earlville home shortly after 2 pm Saturday.

No other details have been provided.

Clayton County Sheriff Brent Ostrander says the efforts of every agency and person involved in this “exhaustive” search helped in this positive outcome. He says it’s a true testament of the dedication of our emergency services personnel.
