The West Delaware School Board met Monday night.
The board set their legislative priorities for next year’s legislative session. Superintendent Dr. Kristen Rickey says it may seem early, but the Iowa Association of School Boards is preparing their platform based on what Iowa’s schools want them to work towards. Most of those priorities are consistent among school boards across the state, but the West Delaware board had a chance to identify what their specific priorities are.
The West Delaware School Board also approved the handbooks for the upcoming school year, which include policies on suicide prevention and concussion management.
The West Delaware School Board has also approved several resignations, including Shannon Funke as 7th Grade Girls Basketball Coach, Tessa Brewer as Special Education Associate, Jessica Cantonwine as Instructional Coach and Mike Cantonwine as Van Driver. New hires were also approved, including Rick Palmer as Bus Driver and Lori Kartman as Volunteer Coordinator.
