Congresswoman Finkenauer Visits Dyersville Farm to Discuss Broadband

Congresswoman Abby Finkenauer spent some time in the Dyersville area Monday morning.

The Congresswoman visited the Jeff Pape farm north of town to talk about the need to expand broadband access in eastern Iowa.

Federal Communications Commissioner Jessica Rosenworcel joined Congresswoman Finkenauer on Monday’s visit.

Jeff Pape spent some time showing Congresswoman Finkenauer and Commissioner Rosenworcel how broadband technology helps their farming operation.

Finkenauer, who serves on the Rural Broadband Taskforce, says she’s trying to make strides on broadband access in rural Iowa – she introduced the Broadband Transparency and Accountability Act last month.

Following their Dyersville visit, Congresswoman Finkenauer and Commissioner Rosenworcel headed to Cedar Rapids for a Broadband Roundtable with stakeholders in healthcare, education and entrepreneurship to discuss the challenges to broadband access and its impact across sectors in Iowa.
