A Dubuque County teen has been crowned the 2019 Iowa Dairy Princess.
18-year old Julie Hammerand of Sherrill was given the title during a Wednesday night ceremony at the Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines.
Hammerand will spend the year serving as a goodwill ambassador for Iowa’s dairy farmers.
Faith Palmer of Allamakee County was named Alternate Dairy Princess. Alexis Costello, representing the Iowa Holstein Association, was named Miss Congeniality.
Hammerand’s reign will begin September 1st.
