Law enforcement will be out on the roads in full force over the next two and a half weeks.
It’s part of the nationwide Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over Campaign heading into the Labor Day weekend.
Last year in Iowa, five people died over three-day Labor Day weekend. And statistics show about one-third of all traffic fatalities are caused by drunk drivers.
To help keep people safe on the roads and put an end to drunk driving, extra law enforcement will be out in larger numbers – both locally and across the nation.
The step up in law enforcement started Friday and will run through September 2nd.
