Hero’s Haven Rescuing Animals in Delaware County

A group of Delaware County residents have come together to help animals in need.

They’re called Hero’s Haven – and it’s an animal rescue group that has been working to take care of dogs, cats and other furbabies that are homeless, lost or discarded. Alison Parmer is one of the volunteers.

Parmer says if you come across an animal that needs their services, you can contact them through Facebook – or if it’s an emergency situation, the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office has their contact numbers. She says once the animals are rescued, they are taken in by foster homes, but they hope to have a facility one day.

Hero’s Haven is funded by private donations from businesses and residents. Brehme Drug in Manchester serves as a drop-off spot for food, toys and supplies. Monetary donations can also be dropped off there, as well as at any Community Savings Bank location. Donations can also be made through PayPal. Parmer says they are a 501(c)(3), so all donations are tax-deductible.

Hero’s Haven made an appearance at the Manchester Public Library last night in an effort to get the word out about their cause – and they’ve planned a cruise for September 21st to help raise money as well.
