Manchester Police Arrest Juvenile for Riverfront Park Vandalism

Manchester Police have made an arrest in connection to the vandalism at Riverfront Park last month.

A juvenile under the age of 15 was charged with Third Degree Criminal Mischief on Wednesday. The juvenile has not been named.

The restrooms at Manchester’s new Riverfront Park along West Main Street near the Whitewater Park had been vandalized on July 31st, just days after the park’s grand opening. During the course of the investigation, police received information that the juvenile had caused the damage by putting buckets of sand and plastic water bottles in the toilets, causing them to clog. Damage was estimated at over five hundred dollars.

The restrooms are scheduled to lock at 9 pm each night, but the vandalism happened after the doors were deadbolted to prevent them from locking.

Police say the juvenile has been referred to Juvenile Court Services.
