A Manchester man was seriously injured in an accident on Highway 20 last week.
The Delaware County Sheriff’s Office says 34-year old Zietus Hill was eastbound near Earlville last Wednesday night, August 14th, when he started experiencing mechanical problems with his Jeep. He slowed down to about 20 miles per hour so he could pull off the highway – and that’s when he was rear-ended by the SUV behind him.
Both vehicles were totaled.
Hill had to be extricated by mechanical means. He was transported to Regional Medical Center with serious injuries and then transferred to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
The other driver, 24-year old Hayllie Hanson of Delhi, had possible injuries.
She was charged with following too closely. Hill was cited for have no valid driver’s license and failure to provide proof of financial liability.
