A Democratic presidential candidate was in Manchester over the Labor Day weekend to visit with local residents.
Montana Governor Steve Bullock was in Iowa as part of his “State House to the White House” event series in counties that flipped from Obama to Trump in 2016. As the only Democrat to win a Trump state, Bullock says he’s ready for change – with the economy his top priority.
Bullock feels his position as a governor from a rural area stands him apart from the other Democratic contenders. He says there are a lot of things to get done if elected President.
This was Bullock’s tenth trip to Iowa since announcing his candidacy in May. And he’s been learning a lot from the state’s voters.
Local residents got a chance to meet with Bullock at a house party at Sharie and Jim Kernan’s home in Manchester Sunday night.
