ATVs and UTVs will soon be allowed to travel through Fountain Springs Park.
Delaware County amended its ATV/UTV Ordinance to allow those riders to use the Class B road that travels through the park near Greeley. ATVs and UTVs are not allowed on any other Class B or Class C roads in the county.
The county’s Roads to Trails ATV/UTV Club requested the change earlier this summer.
The County Board of Supervisors says since the road is gravel and travels through a county park, they were okay with the change. County Supervisor Jeff Madlom says he has heard no complaints since the original ATV/UTV Ordinance passed three years ago and has been pleased with the way the Roads to Trails Club has self-managed.
Two public hearings were held on the issue this month, with no one speaking against it. The Board of Supervisors approved the second and final reading of the amended ordinance on Monday.
The change will go into effect later this month once the ordinance has been officially published in the county newspapers.
