
Flags are being flown half-staff today in honor of Patriot Day and in memory of those who lost their lives on 9-11.
Today marks 18 years since the terrorist attacks on September 11th, 2001.
Governor Kim Reynolds has ordered all flags in Iowa to be lowered to half-staff from sunrise to sunset. Flags will be flown at half-staff on the State Capitol Building and on flag displays in the Capitol Complex. Flags will also be half-staff on all public buildings, grounds and facilities throughout the state.
Others are also encouraged to fly the flag at half-staff as a sign of respect.
