Authorities have released the name of the man who died in a dump truck accident in Dubuque County.
The Dubuque County Sheriff’s Office says the victim was 61-year old Philip Sullivan.
On Wednesday night around 7 pm, the Sheriff’s Office was called to 2716 Fagan Road south of Dubuque for a report of a person pinned by a dump box.
An investigation showed Sullivan was cutting metal with a torch on the frame of a dump truck when the box released and fell, pinning him between the dump box and frame of the truck.
Sullivan was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Dubuque County Sheriff’s Office says deputies and medics sent to a rural property around 7 p.m. Wednesday found the 61-year-old man pinned between the truck’s dump box and the truck body. He was pronounced dead at the scene. His name hasn’t been released.
Authorities say it appears he’d been cutting metal on the truck frame when the dump box came down on him.
