A longtime Manchester city council member has resigned due to health issues.
Ron Struble submitted his resignation letter last Thursday. Mayor Milt Kramer says he will be missed.
Struble has been the only Manchester city council member to attend a council meeting while serving overseas.
Struble’s resignation was reluctantly accepted by his fellow council members on Monday night, followed by hugs, handshakes and “thank you’s” as his last council meeting came to an end.
Mayor Kramer says as they move forward, they have someone in mind to fill Struble’s At-Large council seat.
Behnken is expected to be formally appointed to fill the final two years of Struble’s term at the next Manchester City Council meeting on October 28th.
