A Monticello woman rolled her vehicle after rear-ending a tractor on Thursday night.
It happened just after 6 pm on Highway 38 near Hopkinton. The Delaware County Sheriff’s Office says 30-year old Thomas Welter of Hopkinton was driving a tractor pulling a gravity wagon. He was eastbound on the highway when he slowed down to make a left turn into a private driveway, with his left turning signal activated.
The Sheriff’s Office says 38-year old Sonya Etzel of Monticello was driving her SUV behind Welter. Etzel told authorities she saw the tractor and wagon with its hazard lights activated, but did not notice the turn signal. She rear-ended Welter’s farm equipment, with her SUV rolling and coming to rest on its side.
The Sheriff’s Office says Etzel had to be extricated from her vehicle. She was not injured.
Welter was not hurt either.
She was charged with following too closely.
