A public hearing will be held this month on plans for the new Delaware County Jail and Sheriff’s Office.
The County Board of Supervisors has set the date for November 25th at 1:15 pm. The public will have the chance to comment on the plans, specifications, form of contract and estimated total cost of construction.
The new jail and Sheriff’s Office will be built on the Vontalge property on the far west end of town at 1225 West Howard Street. The new 19,836 square foot facility will accommodate administrative offices, support areas and a 42-bed jail with expansion capability of 28 beds. The County is hoping to start construction yet this year and wrap up the project by November 2020.
Interested bidders are welcome to attend a pre-bid meeting on November 12th at 11 am. Bids are due to the County by 3:30 p on November 21st.
