Buchanan County authorities have released information on an accident involving a combine that happened Friday, November 8. At about 3:20 am Buchanan County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a report of a combine that was partially hanging off a bridge in the 2900 block of York Avenue, southwest of Monti. According to the investigation, a 2019 John Deere combine operated by Matthew Ward of Walker was traveling southbound on York Avenue when it struck a guardrail of a bridge. The collision forced the combine partially over the railing of the bridge and into the creek below. No injuries were reported. Damage was estimated at $25,000 to the combine and $10,000 to the bridge.
