Deadline Approaching for Operation Santa Claus Donations

Operation Santa Claus is asking you to get those final donations in for this year’s giving.

For over thirty years, this Delaware County program has provided gifts to children in need at Christmas. This year, Operation Santa Claus is helping one hundred and ten local families. And volunteer Pat Becker of Manchester says the support from the community is always incredible.

Becker says local businesses step up and provide what they can.

The Country Cruisers Car Club recently presented Operation Santa Claus with a check for $300.

The main items Operation Santa Claus tries to provide for the children are winter coats, snowpants and boots – but they also try to give books and toys. And even items like quilts are appreciated.

The gifts will be given out to the families in less than two weeks on Saturday, December 7th. If you’d like to help by providing a gift, you can pick a tag off a tree at Norby’s, Dental Associates or Community Savings Bank in Manchester or Edgewood – but please get those gifts returned by this Wednesday morning. New items can also be dropped off at the Manchester Chamber office. And you can help with a monetary donation too – checks are accepted at any of the Manchester banks or you can mail your check to Operation Santa Claus PO Box 37 in Manchester.
