Independence Woman Arrested For Theft From Independence Booster Club

An Independence woman has been arrested for Ongoing Criminal Conduct and Theft in the First Degree after the Independence Police received information regarding a check made to her personal line of credit from the Independence Mustang Athletic Booster’s checking account. Jennifer Reuther served as treasurer for the boosters and had access to their accounts from 2015 to 2019. The check to her personal line of credit prompted an investigation. It was soon discovered that Reuther engaged in a scheme to falsify treasurer reports, make cash withdrawals from the debit card, and write unwarranted checks of reimbursement to herself.

Ongoing Criminal Conduct is a Class B Felony and punishable by up to 25 years imprisonment. Theft – 1st Degree, defined as any theft over $10,000.00, is a Class C Felony, and is punishable by up to 10 years imprisonment.
