Iowa Secretary of Ag Mike Naig was in Delaware County on Wednesday morning.
Naig visited with a group of farmers at the Kevin Glanz farm north of Manchester. His visit was originally scheduled earlier this fall with plans to talk about cover crops, but with the way this fall has gone for local farmers, Wednesday’s discussion started off with the wet fall harvest and propane shortage. Secretary Naig says it’s definitely been a challenging time for farmers all across the state.
But Secretary Naig says there are some promising things going on in agriculture right now too.
Around a dozen farmers had a chance to visit with the Secretary of Ag at the Glanz farm, with State Senator Dan Zumbach and State Representative Lee Hein also attending.
