America’s River Festival Coming to an End

America’s River Festival is coming to an end.

The event first started as the Grand Excursion in 2004 was hosted along the Mississippi River in Dubuque as a way to introduce people to the re-invented riverfront. America’s River Festival evolved over the years, once hosting on-site events like DockDogs and Cabela’s Fishing Tournaments. Bands such as Little Big Town, Lady Antebellum and Sam Hunt have performed on the America’s River Festival stage early in their careers – the festival also played host to some iconic classic rock legends like Chicago, REO Speedwagon and Lynyrd Skynyrd.

Officials with America’s River Corporation say as each of these fifteen years passed, Dubuque continued to grow as an entertainment destination, with areas of the community beginning to flourish and thrive. Now, they say it’s time for America’s River Festival to make way for the new wave of events in Dubuque – so they’re ending their fifteen-year run with the success of the 2019 event.

They thank everyone who made America’s River Festival possible over the past fifteen years.
