A Dubuque County native who currently serves as the State Executive Director for the USDA Farm Service Agency will be the featured speaker at an upcoming statewide forum.
Amanda De Jong will speak at the first-ever Iowa Women in Agribusiness Leadership Forum in Des Moines on February 11th. The forum is being hosted by the Agribusiness Association of Iowa.
De Jong, a 1998 graduate of Beckman High School, was raised on a corn and soybean farm near Holy Cross. In the past, she has held the position of Senior Policy Advisor at the Iowa Corn Growers Association and served in prior roles with U.S. Senator Charles Grassley and the USDA.
This new forum will provide a space for topics relevant to all agribusiness sectors and a platform for women in agribusiness to discuss common challenges. An all-new event for the 2020 Agribusiness Showcase & Conference, the Iowa Women in Agribusiness Leadership Forum will bring together high impact leaders and ag professionals in Iowa. Attendees will be able to gain insights from the industry panel, moderated by Iowa Minute Host Laurie Johns, and leaders from the manufacturing, retail/wholesale, government and biotechnology sectors.
Executive Director of 50-50 in 2020, Melissa Gesing, will also be a featured speaker.
