HS Wrestling: West Delaware, Beckman Head To Mount Vernon

It will be a busy three days for the West Delaware team as they start their final stretch into the holiday break with a WaMaC conference double header in Mount Vernon tonight. The 2-0 Hawks will look to improve on their 1-0 conference record as they will take on 7-0 Beckman who comes in with a 4-0 record in the WaMaC, and the host Mustangs who are 1-2 overall and in conference action. West Delaware is fresh off a team title at the South Winneshiek Invitational scoring 171 points with six individual champions while the Blazers finished 3rd at the Mount Vernon Invitational as they scored 142 points and had one champion with six of their wrestlers finishing in the top five in the tournament. Mount Vernon finished 11th in their home tournament and only had three of their 10 wrestlers place in the meet.

After the double dual tonight West Delaware will jump right into the Battle of Waterloo tomorrow afternoon and evening with a guaranteed six duals over the next two days and head coach Jeff Voss really likes the tough schedule right before the holidays:
