The Dubuque County Auditor has announced that she will be retiring at the end of the year after decades of service.
Denise Dolan has served in the position for over 30 years. She was appointed County Auditor in 1987 and, since then, has been elected by voters eight times.
Dolan says she is very proud of the many accomplishments during her tenure, including the preparation and timely filing of 27 budges, which she says Dubuque County had struggled with in prior years. She says she is also proud of 30 years of unqualified financial audits and over 130 successful and fair elections.
During the next few months, Dolan plans to complete a few final projects and train the finance, election and GIS teams as she prepares to retire.
Her last day as Dubuque County Auditor will be December 31st.
