Independence Man Arrested for Pandering a Minor for Prostitution

An Independence man has been arrested for pandering a minor for prostitution.

Independence Police say Mitchell Ciesielski was taken into custody on two warrants last Thursday.

Police say the warrants date back to November, when the minor was asked to give Ciesielski a ride home from a party. He began messaging the minor the following day, saying he would pay her to engage in oral sex and sexual intercourse. The minor did not accept his offers.

Later that afternoon, Ciesielski continued messaging the victim, offering to pay her gas money for the ride the night before. The minor said Ciesielski lured her into his house in the 600 block of 2nd Avenue Southwest, saying he had cash to pay her with. The minor says Ciesielski locked her in the house and forced her to remove clothes and engage in sexual activities. The minor says there was no cash in the house and that Ciesielski later paid her through a mobile application for far more than she thought was due for gas money.

Ciesielski faces charges of Prostitution and Pandering of a Minor for Prostitution.
