Sen. Zumbach Represents Iowa at USMCA Trade Agreement Signing

A Delaware County farmer and legislator was chosen to represent Iowa at Wednesday’s signing of the USMCA Trade Agreement in Washington D.C.

State Senator Dan Zumbach of Ryan tells KMCH he got the call from the White House last Friday.

Senator Zumbach watched as President Donald Trump signed the USMCA Trade Agreement into law.

President Trump made renegotiating the North American Free Trade Agreement a priority during his 2016 campaign. The USMCA Trade Agreement is a major rewrite of the rules of trade with Canada and Mexico. Zumbach, who serves as Chair of the Senate Ag Committee, says it will benefit more than just agriculture.

Senator Zumbach tells KMCH he was also able to sit in on the impeachment trial on Tuesday.
