Cascade Plans to Build New Library

Cascade is making plans to build a new library.

The Cascade City Council gave their approval this week to move forward with a concept for a new library.

It was first brought up in late 2018 after a joint meeting between the Cascade City Council and Library Board. A Library Building Committee was formed last summer and has been meeting monthly since then, discussing ideas for the library’s future. They are considering an eight-thousand square foot building to meet the needs of the community for at least the next forty years.

The City will be hiring an architect as they move forward. They will also be setting up a library foundation, which will be at 501(c)3 organization made up of private citizens. The City says this will be a good way for people to donate to the library, since it will be tax-deductible.
