Jury Selection Continues in Burns Murder Trial

Jury selection continues today for a Manchester man accused of killing a Cedar Rapids teenager 40 years ago. 66-year old Jerry Burns is on trial for first degree murder in the death of 18-year old Michelle Martinko in December of 1979.

Around one hundred potential jurors are being interviewed for the trial, which is expected to last two weeks.

The trial was moved to the Scott County Courthouse in Davenport due to pre-trial publicity.

If convicted, Burns faces mandatory life in prison without parole.
