Manchester Man Charged with Attempted Murder after Officer-Involved Shooting

A Manchester man faces two charges of Attempted Murder after an officer-involved shooting on Thursday morning.

33-year old Kenneth Noble is in custody in the Delaware County Jail following the incident.

Manchester Police were called to an apartment at 308 ½ North Brewer Street in Manchester just before 9 am. Chief Jim Hauschild says the property owner requested assistance from police to enter the apartment to make repairs.

As the property owner entered the apartment, Noble fired a gun, nearly striking the property owner in the head.

The police officer, Captain Rick Carnicle, advanced his position and Noble fired the gun in his direction. Carnicle returned gunfire in self-defense.

Noble was taken into custody. Police say no one was injured during the gunfire exchange.

Noble has been charged with two felony counts of Attempted Murder.

The incident remains under investigation, with further charges pending.
