March is just around the corner – and that means “Mondays in March” is back.
“Mondays in March” is a series of educational programs hosted by the Delaware County Master Gardeners. It gives local residents a chance to learn about hear from speakers on a variety of topics – from landscaping to growing vegetables to learning about local habitat.
This year’s topics have been announced. “Mondays in March” will kick off on Monday, March 2nd with Buchanan County Conservation Naturalist Sondra Cabell, who will speak on “Pollinators – Butterflies and Others”. On Monday, March 9th, Jon Ramaekers, the owner of Farmer’s Best Popcorn, will talk about “Popcorn – A Favorite American Treat”. Bruce Quint, the owner of Select Landscapes of Ryan, will be the featured speaker on Monday, March 16th to talk about “New Landscape Staples”. On Monday, March 23rd, the topic will be “Growing Rhubarb – What a Challenge” with the owner of PKS Rhubarb, Paul Koerperich. And the series will wrap up on Monday, March 30th with Extension Nutrition and Wellness Specialist Kelsey Salow talking about “Preserving Garden Produce”.
Each “Mondays in March” program starts at 7 pm at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Manchester. The public is invited to attend, with a two dollar donation taken at the door. Door prizes are also given away each night.
