Class 3A and 4A Boys Basketball postseason play began last night. In Class 3A Substate 4, The West Delaware Hawks competed hard but just came up short in 68-65 overtime loss in Mount Vernon to Dubuque Wahlert. The game featured 10 ties and 7 lead changes. The Hawks were led by Logan Woellert with 24 points, 21 for Kyle Kelley, 8 for Mitch Krogmann, 4 a piece for Blake Demoss and Eric Salow. WD closes at 6-16 and says goodbye to one senior in Isaiah Rich. The Golden Eagles will head back to Mount Vernon Thursday night to face the 2nd-ranked Mustangs who downed Anamosa in the nightcap last night 79-36. The Blue Raiders ended their season at 4-18 and will lose 2 seniors, Ben Moss and Nick Wagner.

Tonight Class 1A and 2A Boys Basketball will take place with 1A semifinals and 2A district finals. We’ll have two featured games from KMCH Sports. Live on KMCH and KMCH.com Sports Director Jon Swisher and Dan Cassutt will have Monticello and Cascade in Solon for the Class 2A District 8 Final. On KMCH.com Bill Logan and Matt Weis will have Beckman and Crestwood at Central Elkader for the 2A District 7 Final. Coverage will begin around 6:50pm.
We’ll have score updates from North Linn’s 2A District 6 Final at Independence vs. Dike-New Hartford and from Preston where Ed-Co faces Central City.
In Class 1A State Bowling from Monday at the Cadillac XBC Lanes in Waterloo:
The Independence Girls got 5th place. The Monticello Boys finished 7th.
Today the Class 2A field takes the stage in Waterloo. The West Delaware Girls will begin around 10am.
